Designing Digitally, Inc.

This company was nearing the end of the development of their new website and lost the Web Developer that was in charge of putting the site together. I began work on the 1st scope in the middle of November. Most of the items were pretty straightforward, but since the site had been started I had to get my feet wet and figure out how things were set-up from the inside-out.

Scope #1:

  • Fixing FCKEditor to allow for image uploads
  • Setting up Thickbox to allow for viewing of larger images without opening a new window
  • Setting up a way for Case Studies to be created with image galleries for each
  • Tweaks to the existing site
  • Creation of Contact Forms

Along the way during the 1st scope we were noticing a lot of new things that needed to be fixed, so a 2nd scope was created. The second scope was to finish up a few key items, and then help migrate the site from the test server to the live server through GoDaddy.

This turned out to be a very difficult project due to the fact that another developer had already started the project. In most cases this wouldn't be a problem, but in this one I found myself spending some time trying to fix things that had been overlooked. This wasn't because the developer didn't know what he was doing, it was merely due to the new additions that needed to be made.

The site launched on New Year's Day of 2010.
