When I logged in this morning I noticed that on my user account page it says that I've been a member for "1 year 23 hours." It's been a year, huh? That's crazy. I thought I would throw a post up here talking about my experiences so far with having my own blog. First, here are my stats from Google Analytics.

2,812 Visits
6,116 Pageviews
2.17 Pages/Visit
64.26% Bounce Rate
00:02:31 Avg. Time on Site
78.98% New Visits

You'll notice the spike in the middle. That was the result of a case study I wrote for the launch of a website I worked on at work.

Over the last year I've kept an eye on it, mainly because I wanted to see how my hits changed when I blogged more often. I'll be the first one (and not the last one) to admit that those analytics aren't much to brag about. Do I care? Not really. How come? Mainly because I'm doing this blog primarily for me and for those people that run into problems (mainly with Drupal) and need a quick walkthrough.

One example of a post on my blog that has been a pretty big hit was a post about how to modify how some content is displayed on certain pages on a Drupal site. I went through heck and back trying to figure this out, so I thought I would share. I've had over 2,000 (now over 2,500) hits on that blog post alone. Which is why I recently updated it to support the latest version of Drupal. It's posts like that that make me feel good about this blog.

Anyway, that's all I'll really say about that. Bottom line is that I enjoy blogging, but mainly just to help other people out with tips and tricks. I assure you (the 3 people that read this) that I will be blogging more, and about a wider range of topics in web development. Stay tuned!
